Why Do You Need Search Engine Optimization (SEO)?

Just being present on the internet is not enough!


If you have been scrolling around the web long enough, you must have surely heard about this word and its importance in driving traffic to your website. In our previous articles, we talked about social media strategies and their importance in growing your business[ and design ideas to attract users to your social media accounts.


But if you are a business that wants to create an online presence, and attract traffic to your website using Social Media is just not enough and for your website to gain popularity or drive conversions, you also need to drive organic results towards your website, which in simple term means, that whenever people search for a product you sell on Google, your website should at least be on the first page of search results.


Still not convinced? Hear this, 68% of people begin their online experience through google search, and not just that, 53% of all website traffic comes from organic search. So, you can understand how important it is for you to appear in those google searches by individuals. Now, you must be thinking that google must naturally drive traffic to your website and it is something one can’t control.


Not Exactly! 90% of all websites don’t receive organic search traffic from google and why would they? Internet is a crowded place with 2.7 Zettabytes of data present. This statistic was till 2017. You can expect how much it would have grown by now in 2022. The point here is that among this much noise your website might just get lost unless you adopt some practices to have your content seen by people or in short, rank among the top 10 links on google search for specific keywords related to your website content. Adopting these practices which are called SEO or Search Engine Optimisation can not only gain you organic search results but also, save your spending on the advertisement to drive traffic to your website. Two birds one stone, who wouldn’t like that?
